Every home needs a pair of these gloves even if you don't garden! They are very well made and the fit was perfect! I didn't use the size chart, I just ordered Medium which is what I normally get in a glove and they were a perfect fit! The hand is a soft leather that moves freely with your hand. I love the length of the arm guard. I have long arms and they still came up to my elbow! These gloves are very well constructed and the leather is stitched so that they should last you for years! I used them trimming my roses and not one scratch! I could even get into the middle of the large bush without scratches and that is unusual for me since I always look like me and the rose bush had a fight and I lost after pruning, lol. If you use cut wood at all, then these gloves would also be great to carry the wood without harming your skin or clothing. My husband wants to steal them for clearing brush and briers from the property, which is another good idea. There are lots of uses for these gloves beside gardening that you might want to get 2 pair.
