Realistic sound and look with a quality cabinet that can be handed down for years!
I wasn't sure what to expect out of this electronic piano when I was asked to test it but I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this Schoenhut piano. The first thing I noticed was the quality and workmanship of the cabinet. The cabinet is nothing flimsy and has a nice hardy feel to it along with a nice weight to avoid tipping it over. I'm not saying it can't be tipped over but the cabinet is so sturdy and well made that your toddler could sit on top like a bench, it is that well made! It looks just like a grown-up piano only miniaturized!
The electronic piano takes 4 AA batteries accessed from the bottom of the piano and secured by one screw which I like when it comes to children's toys so that they can't get to them. The sound also comes mainly from the enclosed speaker next to the battery box. You also get a little music stand on top to hold your music book that comes with the piano.
The sound quality was exceptional as it sounded like a real piano! There isn't a volume control but the piano isn't so loud as to need one but is a good rich sounding piano. The keys are beautiful and feel like real piano keys, well made and spaced perfectly.
The size is perfect for a table top piano or for younger musicians, they can sit in front of it and play. Although it is stated for 3 yr and up, our 2 yr old grandson loves to sit in front of it and play his music! I think supervised, as long as the child can sit up, then they would enjoy this piano for years to come. This piano can grow with the child yet doesn't take up a lot of space.
We didn't put the colors on as our little one is too young for that but with those your child can easily start playing favorite songs right from the song book that is included and color coded to male playing fun and easy. Your little one will feel accomplished playing their favorite songs since Schoenhut makes it super easy for them to learn.
This piano would make a wonderful birthday, Christmas or just because gift for any child! I would not hesitate to recommend this electronic piano to anyone wanting a quality, well made, great sounding piano for their budding artist!
