If your Mother or Grandmother ever made hand churned butter then Minerva Dairy's Amish Style Roll Butter will bring back those wonderful memories of amazing butter!
Since June is National Dairy Month why not treat yourself and support a wonderful tradition with some of the best tasting butter I have had since childhood!
The butter I received was salted with sea salt which concerned me as I was afraid the sea salt would change the taste. I was wonderfully surprised that it didn't make any difference in tasting just like what I remember my Grandmother churning in her simple country kitchen.
Slow churned is absolutely the best butter you can find and with 84% butterfat, you'll find it taste much better than any store bought butter. Minerva Dairy does do large batches but each batch is still slow churned. The size of the batch doesn't make a difference, in my opinion, it is the churning process along with the pastured raised cows and butterfat content that proves over and over again, you can't get great quality butter quickly!
I haven't had such wonderful butter since my Grandmother passed 34 years ago. Hours of sitting in her kitchen watching her churn the butter and then having the wonderful experience of being the first to slice open one of her biscuits and slather it with her delicious butter is one of my fondest memories. Minerva Dairy has brought back those memories with their Amish style butter. The only thing missing is the cute little butter molds, complete with a little imprint that Granny used. The taste, texture, and color are all the same as Granny made.
I was pleasantly surprised recently when chatting with my Doctor about the butter and having him tell me that eating real butter is much better for me than margarine! Wheeee, I have my doctors approval to eat real butter from now on! You don't need a doctor's note to enjoy real churned butter, if you are concerned for health reasons, then do talk to him about it.
I compared Minerva Dairy's butter to the store bought not only by color and taste but for me melting it tells a lot. I melted some of each and the store bought had a significant amount of water whereas the butter from Minerva Dairy only had a very slight trace. That spoke volumes to me! I don't want to buy watered down butter, I was the real, churned, Grandmother approved butter!
I like supporting small business and Minerva Dairy has won me over with their Amish Style butter! Minerva Dairy has other products like cheeses! I have never heard of nor tried Farmer's Cheese but it sounds wonderful! Check out their site, treat yourself to some high-quality butter and maybe a few other of their wonderful products!
