This airbrush system has gotten me back to wearing makeup again!
I had been seeing the infomercials for another brand and was intrigued. I'm 56 and had stopped wearing makeup long ago because I felt like it only my me look older, made my fine line just appear worse than they were. I was offered the opportunity to try the Belloccio airbrush system and figured I didn't have anything to loose. Let me start by saying that I was very nervous trying it the first time. I read and read the pamphlet over and over, watched the video included twice and got the courage up to give it a whirl.
I really wasn't expecting much other than why did I bother, lol I was surprised at the results on my very first try! Now it wasn't perfect and I need a bit more practice but it looked much better than any foundation I had tried in the past. It wasn't thick and I didn't look anything like a freak or clown, lol. I was even brave enough that I mixed my own color according the the instructions and it worked! It worked, ok, I'm still in shock, lol. The motor isn't too terribly loud but then again you will only be running it for a few minutes. I was able to quieten it a bit by placing a washcloth under it to absorb some of the sound.
After hooking up the hoses, filling my cup with my custom mixture, off I went on a spraying spree! Don't do that! Take is nice an easy, hold the airbrush at least 6 to 8 inches away from your face. Don't stop moving it in circles or you'll be disappointed and be removing it, this I know from making that mistake. Make circles with the airbrush and keep moving around your face. I did half my face at first to see if I was even going to like the color, I would suggest this so if you don't like it you don't have to wash your whole face.
Once I was happy with the shade, I proceeded to cover my whole face. I was airbrushed in about 5 minutes and scared as I was to take a good hard look, I did and was shocked at the results. I didn't look like I had been to clown school or had lobbed on foundation. I had a nice smooth, flawless finish. My wrinkles were much less noticeable and there were no makeup lines! I had always been a stickler for makeup lines and really wanted to not have to blend them and the airbrush was my answer.
Now I know that I'm still a work in progress and am getting better at it. I only had to use 5 drops of each color to get my perfect match and cover my face. I then moved on to the blush. I have to admit, I still need some practice on the blush to get a smaller area of coverage but after seeing how nice the foundation looked, I'm up for it!
I couldn't believe everything you get in the kit! Besides the compressor, airbrush and foundation, you also get primer, blush, shimmer and bronzer! You get a sun tanning solution but I haven't played with that one yet :) There is a little wrench to help with the cleaning and you get a good sized bottle of cleaner for the airbrush. I love the carrying case it came in as it looked very elegant and held everything that was included with some room left over. There were mesh side and front pockets with a zippered mesh pocket in the top. The carrying hand makes it simple to take along with you on trips.
I'm no expert in makeup but after years of not wearing any because of the results I always got after aging some, I can honestly say that I will be wearing make up much more often and not be quite as camera shy. Oh, I'm still going to be camera shy but I will have more confidence when I get caught!
I did have a bit of a challenge cleaning it but that isn't the machine's fault but mine. I did the cleaner, cotton swabs and dried everything but I still see makeup way down in it that I can't reach. When I get braver, I'll take it apart *or get the husband too* and see if I can do a better job. If I ca't do it then I have no problems calling the company for help since I feel they want their customers to have a good experience. If not, then I'll be updating my review, lol I gave this airbrush system a real good test totally expecting to hate it but I can't. I have to be honest and say that it will be used and used and used! I was provided a sample of the product for my honest unbiased review.
